Welcome to Chain Reaction!

What is Chain Reaction!?

Deep in the valley of lockdown, I was looking for a way to make more meaningful contact with my friends of the “International Online Art Collective”. One day, during a zoom call, I had the idea to create a Chain Reaction of art. They loved the idea and over the following two-year period our Chain Reaction created 100 artworks. Our 14-strong Collective from around the world collaborated online, allowing a sequential chain of works to be created, each one inspired by the one before. We have now started taking it around the world!

Each artist created one work in each of 7 rounds, always being inspired by a different artist before them. Imagine coordinating that across 19 time zones!

Below are the 7 pieces I contributed. For more information, please see our website. On there, you will see the narrative that describes the inspiration and some of the process behind each of the 100 pieces. You will also see our fabulous video which features all of us.

Please follow us on FB IOAC.art, IG and Linked In for our latest info and events.

In 2023 we had our first in-person exhibition in New York. We are excited to announce our next exhibition in Washington DC in May 2024.

These are the 7 works I contributed to the project

“CURIOUS” She is so curious about everything around her, she is becoming the garden!
“URBAN ANGEL” a character in flight, both strong and mythical with a fiery energy
“DRAGON TATTOO” A fierce person supporting the innocent and caught in the crossfire.
“POSEIDON” The Greek mythical god of the sea and protector of seafarers
“MOON JELLIES” Luminous, fluid little creatures, ancient and present. Beautiful but feared. Unchanged for centuries
“SILENT SONG” My creative voice sings from the canvas – my truth, my story, my tribe
“I HEART LOVE” Bridging the divide between real life and the online gesture. Love is the answer!

A lovely article was published in our local press

I hope to bring the exhibition to the UK next year

The Making of Chain Reaction

We have a very cool magazine which accompanies the exhibition which can be purchased at the exhibitions or online here –

The Chain Reaction project has touched people’s hearts in a way we never could have imagined.

“Seeing these works and learning about the inspiration and stories behind them has transported me back to a place I never thought I’d go again”
